It is undeniable that we live in a connected world in which we find more and more WiFi networks and connected devices. It is now rare to find a home that does not have an Internet connection and several devices that uses it for several things like check email, chat with family and friends or see whats happening on the social networks. Now when people or friends go to each other’s house, they always ask for the WiFi passwords first and then save it on their devices to get connected automatically when they visit next time. But it is not always easy to remember all these passwords and looking for them in the router is a nuisance. A password can sometimes be difficult to remember, but there is a neat trick to see all the stored WiFi passwords on a computer or laptop to be used later on another device. Today we are going to show you how to find WiFi password on windows 10.
It is very common to see how every time we try to connect a new device to our WiFi network we ask ourselves, what was the password? If we are at home and we have not changed the default one, simply go to where we have the router and see the clear sticker on the back of it. However, it is likely that we have changed the password for security reasons or we are in the cafeteria where we usually go with our Windows laptop in which we have the saved connection so that it connects when identifying it.
So nowadays, every time we turn on the computer, it automatically connects to our home network in order to surf the Internet, but when we are out we look for a Wi-Fi network to which we can connect. The moment we connect for the first time indicating the access password, we can tell the system to remember this connection so that the next time it is available it connects automatically .
This way, we will not have to ask for the Wi-Fi passwords every time we want to connect. However, when we want to connect another device to one of those networks that we have stored on our PC or laptops, it is difficult for us to remember the stored wifi password. Therefore, let’s see below how we can find the passwords of WiFi networks stored in the computer .
There are two ways to view the saved wifi password on windows 10 device. Seeing the passwords of WiFi networks saved in the computer from the Windows interface itself or using the command prompt through a series of commands. How to view ALL Saved WiFi Passwords on Windows 10
To do this, the first thing we have to do is open a command prompt window with administrator permissions, something we can do simply by right clicking on the Windows 10 Start menu and choosing the Command Prompt option (administrator ). Once we are on the command line, the first thing we are going to do is show a list of the networks that we have stored in the computer to know the exact name of which we want to know the password.
For this, we are going to type the following command:
netsh wlan show profile
Press Enter and you can see a list of all the WiFi networks with password stored on your computer.
To know the already stored password of any WiFi connection on windows 10, simply enter the following command
netsh wlan show profile name=wifi-connection-name key=clear
You have to change the “wifi-connection-name” with actual WiFi name. For example, if you see the following list of WiFi connections,
NewLane
FastWifi
New-Bigger-Internet
And you want to see the stored password of “FastWifi” connection, your command will look like this
netsh wlan show profile name=FatWifi key=clear
When you press enter, you will see information about this network, among which you can find the stored wifi password as shown in the following image.
