The Best Minecraft Servers for 2021

Nowadays, the video game industry is growing fast, bringing more and more players of all ages together in a fun and innovative way. The great thing about gaming is that it develops all the time. With so many games out there to try and communities to join, it’s never too late to get into gaming and immerse yourself in this fictional world. The best part? You don’t even have to purchase various expensive equipment or be an expert to enjoy it right from the beginning.  Playing video games for hours is surely fun and exciting. But sometimes you may have one or another reason to stay up late than usual to complete a specific task, round or even a new level in an online game. Whatever your reason, this excuse is able to have a little more than the rush of gaming to keep you awake to achieve your goals. So, how can you maintain your energy levels high throughout your gaming session? And no, put down that high in sugar energy drinks. In this article, you will find eight ways on how you can stay energetic while participating in online video games.

Take Frequent Breaks

You might think you are a superhero, but everyone needs to take a break from time to time. Contrary to popular belief, taking small yet frequent breaks actually help to increase your ability to stay focused for longer periods.  By looking away from the screen for at least five to ten minutes, you are somehow sending your brain a signal to completely reboot. It also helps to restore your energy levels. And with a fresh brain, you can get a clearer idea of what you are doing and make more informed decisions while playing.

Drink Plenty Of Water

Even being a little bit dehydrated lowers concentration, cognitive performance and negatively affects our motor skills and general mood – all of which is a big problem for many gamers. Focus on staying hydrated the day before and the day of a game. Make sure to have a bottle of clean water by your keyboard. Whenever you feel sluggish or tired, take a few sips to come back and shine!

Keep Healthy Snacks On Hand

Gaming sessions usually take a while, making most gamers forget about everything, including food. However, your body needs fuel to function properly, and without nutritious and healthy food, your energy and mood can plummet. Eating regularly can boost energy levels, improve memory, concentration and motivation. Therefore, consider bringing some (healthy!) snacks to have easy access to food, sustain the needed energy levels and minimise the interruptions from vital moments during the game.

Switch Up Your Tunes

One way not to get tired while playing online games is to listen to high or medium tempo music. Sometimes the mellow background music from video games can lull you into rest more quickly. The bouncy and medium tempo music is thought to activate the mind, increase alertness and prevent it from becoming tired, which means a lot more time for playing. Try to experiment with turning off your recorded music for the game and switching it to some techno, heavy metal, or any high power tunes you like.

Consume Caffeine (But Not Too Much)

Instead of resorting to help of the good old Monster or Red Bull drink to kick-start your energy levels and crush daytime fatigue, try to consume caffeine every six hours (but no more than 200 mg). Unlike energy drinks, coffee is considered a better alternative as it has no artificial sweeteners, no calories and is generally cost-effective. In fact, caffeine is thought to be a stimulant drug, which means it directly affects the human brain.  So drinking a cup of joe before or during a game can give you an almost instant energy boost, improves memory and increases reaction time – the perfect combination for a winning game.

Benefit From Taking CBD Oil

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical substance found in the cannabis plants. It is known to interact with the endocannabinoid system that is involved in crucial processes of the body, such as immune function, sleep, pain, memory, stress, metabolism, etc.  Benefits of CBD oil can help to increase energy levels, improve mood and concentration, diminish pain, promote better quality sleep and even relieve stress and anxiety usually caused by losing a round or match. What’s more, cannabidiol comes in different products formats such as CBD gummies, capsules, vapes and many others. Make sure to do a little research to find out what product might be best for your needs and consult with your doctor or a healthcare provider prior to using any CBD infused product.

Do Some Exercises

Remember to pause the game occasionally to stretch a little so that your body does not get sore from sitting in one position for a long time. Stretching is an essential practice intended to avoid muscular contraction and tension while maintaining flexibility, strength and health. It can also help to improve posture, decrease stress and body aches, which is beneficial for all players. Also, try to strengthen the muscles in your hands and wrists with some exercise to prevent injuries, increase reaction time and make them more reflexive.

Go Outside

Nature can help to fight depression and anxiety and restore our ability to stay focused. Just 20 minutes in the fresh air is enough to feel more energetic and alive.  Even if you can’t go outside to take a walk, the simple act of opening a window, getting natural light and having a room well ventilated is a great subconscious and physical boost. If you don’t get sunlight throughout the day, it will affect your sleep at night, which, in turn, will worsen your cognitive abilities.
